Can any one suggest with the best bar at walking street with out cheating and overpriced drinks.

Walking street bar

Walking street isn't the only place for bars. Beer bars are cheaper than nightclubs and they are everywhere! If you ask the waitress the price for a drink you know what it is! Too high go elsewhere! When you are served a drink you look at the little chit receipt you get and see if it is the right price BEFORE consuming the drink! Avoid the Russian bars. They may not even let you in anyway especially if you are in a group with other Indian men. Avoid chatting up ladyboys on Pattaya Beach Road late at night especially if drunk and randy! You might end up a TV star pointing out the LB that robbed you!

All the bars on walking street are expensive compared to bars outside the area but you're paying for the entertainment as well so in my opinion it's worth it. Some bars have happy hours so you can always go then. Walking Street is not the the best place for cheap drinking. However, I would not say the drinks are overpriced in places that offer live music. Discos have rather expensive drinks but there are no entrance fees and there are lots of local females who are willing to actually to talk with you if you can hear anything in the loud music. What is best depends on what you like.

Look for staff in front of bars holding s advertising happy hour offers or even all-night cheap draft beer. If you make use of these offers you may Walking street bar able to drink more cheaply in agogo bars viewing very scantily clad dancers than while sitting in an ordinary bar.

I forget the name but it is about opposite Soi Diamond the next soi going south from Soi Waiters insist on payment when they deliver drinks so bill padding is not possible. Discos use the same system. If you go further south along Walking Street you find several relatively inexpensive bars with live bands. If you want cheap drinking you should head for the beer bar areas. However, they provide only canned music, an occasional pool table 20 bahts per game or free in some places as long as you buy drinksand bar girls willing to play rather silly games and cadge drinks on which they get a commission.

One beer bar area is north of Walking Street around Sois 7 and 8 both at the Beach Road and inside the sois. From Walking Street you either walk up the one-way Beach Road or catch a baht bus at the Pattaya Tai and Pattaya Saisong intersection for 10 bahts per person. The sois alleys go between Beach Road and Saisong so you can as well get off at Saisong since that end of the sois has beer bars, too, and it is not a long walk to Beach Road.

The beer bars at Rompo market on Jomtien 2nd Road are even cheaper because it is a low-rent area compared to Beach Road. A baht bus from the Pattaya Tai and Pattaya Saisong intersection costs 10 bahts per person. You get off at Jomtien Beach Road Soi 7 and then walk a few hundred metres to the end of the soi and across the road to get to Rompo. Most bars at Walking Street are either pay as you go or have computerized cash registers which provide a cumulative itemized bill of your orders. You just have to check each time that your latest order is correct in the new bill that the waiter brings you.

These systems prevent the staff from putting money into their own pockets so they benefit both the owners and customers. Some places, especially beer bars, still use the handwritten bills collected into a bin.

In those places you need to check that your latest order is entered correctly and do the sums before you ask for 'check bin'. Dishonest cashiers might try to inflate your bill when they calculate the total bill. Most places really are Walking street bar and if they see you to pay attention and to be on top of things even dishonest ones won't try bill padding. The only real rip-offs on Walking Street are the bars with Russian dancers. The prices are extremely high and there is high pressure to buy drinks to dancers - not at all cozy.

People from around the Indian subcontinent have a bit poor reputation in Pattaya as cheapskates. They are infamous for trying to bring in their own bottles into bars or trying to share a single bottle of beer among multiple persons. Some bars will invent an excuse to prevent you from entering. That may be totally unfair in your case but you just have to live with the impression that past visitors have left. It is nothing personal - in Tokyo I was turned away from many clubs that were 'Japanese only'.

The best you can do is being more generous than your countymen in the past. Note that bar girls have low salaries and tips and commissions on lady drinks are a substantial Walking street bar of income.

Do not expect them to sit with you, talk and play games without buying them drinks. They might do it but they won't be happy and you would be enforcing the stereotype of stingy Indians. Nothing wrong with sitting alone and drinking a single beer for two hours thinking about the whichness of what - I have done it in the past when I have been in a bad mood and not willing to get drunk.

Nothing wrong with that but if you make the staff spend time on you should pay for their time in one way or another. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. We hope you'll the conversation by posting to an open topic or starting a new one.
