May 12nd 2002 Sharon rushed to hospital

Sharon Stone has been hit by a new health scare - just eight months after suffering a stroke. Stone, 44, due to be a judge at next week's Cannes Film Festival, was rushed to a San Francisco hospital last week.
She was released after treatment in the emergency department. It is not known what doctors treated her for or if the Basic Instinct star's hospital trip is linked to the severe stroke she had last September. Back then she suffered a sub-arachnoid haemorrhage, which kills a third of its victims immediately. Another third die in weeks. She revealed at the time: "I didn't have brain surgery. I was treated with medication." It is thought she was told to have regular brain scans.

February 19th 2002 Stone officiates at interior designer Greg Henson's commitment ceremony

Touched by an angel - Greg Henson has more than one reason to thank Sharon Stone this Valentine's Day. Not only did the gay-friendly diva officiate at the November commitment ceremony in which Henson married his partner, Jeff Brooks, but Henson believes she was instrumental in helping him recover from skin cancer.

Henson, an interior designer who owns an upscale home furnishings store in San Francisco, was recovering from an operation to remove a malignant polyp from his face two years ago when the actress met him while shopping in his store.

"She said, `Wow, what happened to you?'" Henson recalls. "We got to talking, and she performed reiki [a New Age method that uses personal energy to heal] on me right there in the store. And you know what? It worked."

It was a bonding experience, and Henson says that when he and Brooks decided to get married, Stone was a natural choice to officiate the ceremony. "If it hadn't been for her, I might not be alive today," says Henson. "We have a lot to thank her for."
